First Day of School

The Emerald Brigade will be playing the fight song at the morning Assembly before first period. Wear your white Emerald Brigade polo shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers to school in the morning. All students should meet at the Band Room by 7:15 a.m. You can bring a change of clothes for the rest of the day.

Rehearsal ends at 9:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to sit in the stands and watch the Emerald Brigade prepare this year's field show! The best time for parents and siblings to come is for the last hour, although spectators can view the rehearsal at any time. Thursday evenings are an awesome time to show your support for our hard-working kids, enjoy the progress of the field show, and meet friends.

Color Guard Members: Wear a black T-shirt and black shorts.

Band Members: Wear a white T-shirt and sneakers, and bring your dot book. You can also bring your music to check during breaks.

All EB Members: Bring a water bottle for breaks. Later in the season, you may want to pack a sweatshirt or jacket in your bag if the evening is chilly.

Mandatory Emerald Brigade Chaperone Training

We need to have all of our Chaperones ("Home" and/or "Away"), including Plumers (placing plumes in shakos) and Hair Inspectors, trained and ready for our entire year of events. If you signed up or are interested in signing up for any of these positions, it is mandatory that you come to this very important presentation. This training will only happen once this year, so it is essential that you attend.

Training will be conducted by Melissa Martinez (Lead Away Chaperone), Jamie Casados (Co-Lead Away Chaperone), and Pam Yates (Lead Home Chaperone).

Orchestra Welcome Back Picnic

The PHS Music Boosters along with your 2018 Orchestra Leadership will be hosting a "Welcome Back" Orchestra Picnic on Saturday, August 25 at Lake Poway. All Orchestra students AND their families are invited to this celebration of the new school year. Please download a Picnic flyer and put it on your refrigerator or pass it on to your orchestra friends.

This FAMILY event is a potluck-style picnic so please bring a dish to share! Drinks and paper products will be provided. Bring chairs, blankets, pop-ups, frisbees, etc.

Emerald Brigade Picture Day

2018-2019 Emerald Brigade pictures will be taken in full uniform on Saturday, August 25. Photos will be taken of the full band, sections, and individual members. You can also ask the photographer to take a picture of your select "buddy group." As in past years, Most Valuable Photographers (MVP) will shoot our "official" photos.

Remember to bring your black marching shoes and to wear a black T-shirt, black shorts, and black socks. Please, NO MAKEUP - foundation, powder, and blush will stain the uniforms. Hair may be styled. You will not have to wear a shako.

If you ordered shoes at Uniform Fitting, they WILL NOT BE HERE IN TIME FOR THE PICTURES! Please wear the closest thing you have to black uniform shoes. They won't be seen in the photos unless you are in the first row. If you don't have shoes and are in the first row see the uniform mom's to borrow shoes.
