Attendance at the Emerald Brigade Band Camp is required for all marching band students. During this week, students are introduced to the field show that will be featured at halftime during home football games and performed at tournament competitions.

The traditional Family & Friends Concert will be held on the evening of Friday, August 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the N-Quad to close out Band Camp week. Everyone is invited. Be sure to bring a lawn chair and some snacks!

What should you bring to Band Camp? Here's some recommendations, but be sure to check with your Section Leader:

  • Sun block - bring plenty and plan to re-apply often during the day
  • Sun hat with good coverage (see the expert campers below)
  • Sneakers (NO sandals or flip-flops)
  • Lots of water - one gallon in an insulated drink container isn't too much!
  • NO soda, but Gatorade is great
  • Lunch and nutritious snacks
  • 3-ring binder for music and a pencil
  • Dot book (ask your Section Leader where to get one)
  • Your instrument!

Band Camp Family & Friends Concert

Friday, August 18, 6:30 p.m.

PHS N-Quad

The traditional Family & Friends Concert will be held on the evening of Friday, August 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the N-Quad to close out Band Camp week. Everyone is invited.

The Emerald Brigade will perform part of their field show music, and fire up the crowd with the PHS Fight Song. See how far they have come after one week of hard work! Be sure to bring your camp or beach chair.

Performance attire will be the Emerald Brigade travel shirt (white polo), black shorts, white socks, and white athletic shoes.

White Emerald Brigade polo shirts (AKA travel shirts) will be available for sale before the concert. The cost is $25. Checks should be made payable to "PHSMB".

FUNDRAISER ANNOUNCEMENT: Be sure to bring your money as we will be selling In-N-Out gift cards ($10 each). Alison King from 31 Bags will have a product table there ready to sell her amazing bags. 20% of total sales will be donated to PHS Music Boosters. Emerald Brigade Uniform Fitting & Registration

Welcome, new and returning Marching Band students! Uniform Fittings for all marching band students will be held on Saturday, August 19, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Band Room (N-1).

All students MUST be accompanied by at least one parent.

COLOR GUARD - Please come for registration only during our open hours. No need to sign up for a fitting.

ALL MARCHING BAND STUDENTS - SIGN UP FOR A FITTING APPOINTMENT

All students should sign up for a 15-minute time slot on either Saturday or Sunday. Be sure to arrive to your appointment wearing the correct apparel for your fitting. Registration forms will be made available soon. Remember, you MUST be accompanied with at least one parent.

In order to have the most uniforms in the right sizes available when you show up, please sign up in descending class order if possible:

  • Seniors - Saturday Morning
  • Juniors - Saturday Lunch Time
  • Sophomores - Saturday Afternoon
  • Freshman - Sunday

If your band student is unavailable for either of the appointment dates, please contact Kari Nietz-Gigstad at kngigstad@gmail.com immediately. Be advised, the official band photo day will take place the morning of Saturday, August 26. It is critical that each and every student be fitted and all pertinent forms are collected by the end of Registration.

ALL PARENTS - SIGN UP TO HELP

We need your help with the upcoming Registration & Uniform Fitting. Volunteers will help set up uniform stations on Friday, August 18 after the Band Camp Concert, and fit students with their brand new uniforms on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20. You can sign up for shifts before, after, or during your own student's appointment. The experts on our Uniform Team will train you and answer any questions.
