Why clinicians and coaches matter
Clinicians and coaches are the program’s largest annual expense. The 2026–2027 support handout lists approximately $112,000 each year for these professionals.
Clinicians provide feedback during festivals and competitions to help the band or orchestra develop as a group. Coaches work weekly with specific sections or instrument groups to help students hone their skills. Coaches also assist during marching season and Winter Guard. Our program would not be the same without them.
What we support
The Poway High School Instrumental Music Program includes the Emerald Brigade Marching Band & Color Guard, Orchestra, Concert Bands, and Jazz Bands.
Over a typical school year, these groups perform at:
- Five football games
- Five field tournaments
- Three to four festivals
- Nine winter guard competitions
- Ten or more concerts
PHS Music Boosters supports these activities through volunteer service and fundraising.
