Emerald Brigade Sousaphone Campaign
Broken, repaired, cracked, dented, soldered, broken, repaired, no longer repairable, pieced together..that is the story of our up to 30 year old sousaphones. The Poway High School Band is in DESPERATE need of new sousaphones. Our students work incredibly hard and put in long hours to perform an outstanding show, however, due to the conditions of our sousaphones, the sound of the band suffers. New sousaphones are $7,000-$8, 000 each, we have not been able to replace them in many years.

We have an opportunity to purchase up to 10 new sousaphones this year! We just received a donation offer of up to $34,000 if we raise matching funds. Our goal is to have the new instruments for this marching season! All 180 marching band students will be so grateful and excited, and the new sousaphones will make a HUGE difference in the look and sound of their show! Any funds over the $34,000 goal will be used to purchase/replace other instruments. Please consider a donation for new sousaphones on GoFundMe, and share our campaign with your relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers!

Home Football Game - PHS vs. Olympian High School
Friday, September 9, 2016
5:30 PM Call Time / 7:00 PM Kick-off

Enjoy the Emerald Brigade half-time show "ZO" AND cheer on the Titans!

Marchers, remember to bring your black marching shoes and to wear a black T-shirt, black shorts, and black crew-length (no ankles showing) socks, and please - NO MAKEUP. Make sure that you eat BEFORE you come to the game.

Marching Band and Color Guard parents - this is a friendly reminder that during home football games, only assigned chaperones may sit with the band and color guard students in the area marked by the yellow chord. It is the chaperones' job to make sure that the students are safe from unwanted visitors, that the uniforms stay clean from food and other items, and that the kids stay hydrated with water. Please feed your child before the game. They are not allowed to eat in uniform. If you are at the game, please sit on the other side of the yellow chord. Our chaperones and uniform trailer volunteers would like to keep the new uniforms looking sharp for future Emerald Brigade marchers. Thank you for your cooperation.

Shop & Give to PHSMB with iGive
If you shop online, go to your online store, find what it is that you would like to buy, and then go to iGive.com. Our PHS Music Booster organization will receive a percentage back from your purchase! iGive is a free service where shopping at any of up to 1,900 stores like Walmart, JC Penney, Sears, Overstock, and many more, will mean a donation to PHSMB.

Enrollment is free - sign up at iGive.com.

Amazon will no longer be on iGive as of August 1, 2016. But - there's good news, too. Most of the almost 1,800 stores offer a much, much bigger donation than the half percent Amazon offered. Walmart's donation is 3X bigger than Amazon's. iGive stores usually offer around 3%, but some go way, way higher. It's so easy to do good with #FREEMONEY for Poway High School Music Boosters.

PLUS, with the iGive Back-to-School Bonus, simply by your inviting friends to try iGive.com, Poway High School Music Boosters can earn extra funds ... at no cost to you or to them. When you share your personalized iGive Tell-a-Friend link with friends, and they join and shop just once, Poway High School Music Boosters gets a $10 bonus. Offer good until August 31, 2016, so act now.

If you want to see how PHSMB is doing on iGive, please visit the PHSMB iGive Cause Dashboard.

Poway Real Estate Professionals are BIG PHS Music Supporters!

The Poway High School Music Boosters would like to thank the Poway Real Estate Professionals for their generous donation. With the funds donated this year PHSMB is able to buy 2 vital tools in the instrumental music program at Poway High. The first is a Dr. Beat metronome (a device used by the marching band to keep time while learning their drill). It can be heard across an entire football field. The second tool purchased with this donation is Finale, a type of composition software that allows all of the music programs (orchestra, choir, jazz, marching band, musical) at PHS to create, edit and publish music scores used in their performances.

Every year the PUSD music programs must raise hundreds of thousands of dollars that the district does not provide in order for our community's kids to have a first class musical education. If it were not for the generous donations of organizations like Poway Real Estate Professionals, these kids' dreams would be left behind. PHSMB is truly grateful for this generous gift from PREP and all charitable donations that they receive. The parents, students and teachers would like to thank them for their generosity.
